About this deal

Most of the time, the natural fluctuation of hormones — whether that’s over the course of a month, or during different phases of your life — are the primary cause. Mary Ryan is a registered pharmacist in the UK and Republic of Ireland with over eight years of experience. This reduces the risk of irritation whilst your skin gets use to the ingredients but actually it’s also quite nice to have a quick routine when you’re tired haha! Catriona completed her specialty training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology (Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital) in London.

You'll usually see it at the top of ingredient lists, meaning that it makes up the largest part of the product. I have rosacea, which is something that Dermatica makes a range of products for, so this moisturiser is well suited to skin undergoing treatment for rosaces or other conditions.I've talked through my thoughts in this short video - I forgot to say that I find just one and a half pumps is enough to hydrate my face in summer and two to two and a half in winter, because a little goes a long way and I also use a an eye cream and serum. The manufacturer claims that it has a great sustainability profile, long lasting stability and a unique, light and silky feel that's ideal as a base for modern, eco-friendly body lotions and facial care products. The BeautyBrains blog made a fantastic article about ceramides and they have listed a couple of examples about studies showing that ceramides - especially when used in certain ratios with cholesterol and fatty acids - do hydrate the skin and can help to repair the skin barrier. On the technical side of things, xanthan gum is a polysaccharide - a combination consisting of multiple sugar molecules bonded together.

I currently get my monthly retinoid treatment from Dermatica (and have done for the past 1-2 years). They also rebranded their personalised treatment packaging around this time, though the process and formulas stayed the same. Now the question is only this: If we put ceramides all over our face do they work as well as ceramides already naturally in our skin? You’ll find glycerin, shea butter, grape seed oil and hyaluronic acid in here, all of which provide and lock in moisture. It’s rare that hormonal acne is a sign of an imbalance or health problem, although sometimes it could be an indicator of abnormal hormone levels caused by underlying conditions (such as polycystic ovary syndrome).

It also helps fade dark-spots and strengthen the skin by promoting the growth of the ceramide barrier. Having tried many products before to help with my skin I can honestly say that I have been very impressed with Dermatica. This is important since, when your skin is adequately hydrated, you’ll find that fine lines and wrinkles become less apparent. Besides the wonderful medium texture that sinks in right away (and works beautifully under makeup), the healing properties of this cream are amazing!
