About this deal

To taste, Edinburgh Gin is a triumph! At 43% ABV, it’s certainly not the strongest London Dry you’ll find in today’s market, but on nosing the gin it’s surprising the intensity of the aromas.

Heading inland to the high street, visitors will find the burgh of Portobello to be a vibrant and thriving community that has retained much of its original Victorian charm and character. In summary, Seton Sands Beach is a lovely destination for a relaxing day trip or a longer getaway, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. As well as having the perfect, cute cafe to serve you drinks and tasty food, St Abb's was also the filming location for some scenes of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Remnants of its past can still be found during a walk along the beach including anti-tank defences and even the remains of a test submarine, though visitors should avoid the northern flats as the ground is very boggy and there’s a likelihood of disturbing nesting birds.

The two best places to eat on the promenade (in my opinion) are The Espy and The Beach House which are located next to each other. The Espy is a pub with a restaurant which serves massive portions of food while The Beach House is a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Access to Gullane Beach is a wee bit more difficult than the others on this list as the rough footpaths from the car park are unsuitable for wheelchairs, but at least children will have a great time exploring the dunes and gorse bushes that surround the paths. The beach is easy to access thanks to the newly renovated car parks off the B1348 which have public toilets and ample spaces, but it can also be accessed from roadside spaces near the Seton Sands Holiday Park. While Edinburgh is better known for its cultural heritage and rich history, it also has an incredible coastline, which is dotted with brilliant beaches.Seton Sands is a particularly beautiful beach located between the twin villages of Port Seton and Longniddry, 13 miles east of Edinburgh’s city centre. If you’re on a budget, follow Bath Street which runs to Portobello high street (0.2 miles away) where you’ll find a Greggs and a Bayne’s bakery on either side of the road. Tourist Information Golf enthusiasts, meanwhile, will be delighted to discover that Gullane Golf Club boasts three excellent golf courses – Gullane No. 1, Gullane No. 2, and Gullane No. 3, each of which offers a unique challenge.

The Portobello Kayaking and Sailing Club is based here, along with RowPorty, a community-run coastal rowing club. Look out also for the splendid Victorian swimming pool, featuring an original Aerotone and Turkish baths.

Welcome to Portobello Beach, a charming seaside suburb of Edinburgh. In this article, we’ll take a good look around this beautiful beach which has two miles of golden sand and clean water that’s perfect for swimming and sunbathing. A mixture of maceration and vapour infusion techniques are utilised to create the delightful flavour profile of Edinburgh Gin. The process used depends on the suitability for each botanical, of which there are 14. These are: juniper, coriander, angelica root, orris root, orange peel, lavender, mulberries, pine buds, lemongrass, cobnuts, lime peel, cassia bark, milk thistle, liquorice root. An intriguing mix of traditional and contemporary.

Edinburgh has countless beautiful beaches on its doorstep, and whether its views across the Forth you're after or the rugged beauty of East Lothian, you don't have to look far to find the perfect spot to whittle away those long sunny days. Here are the best beaches in Edinburgh right now. So if a day at the beach is on your list this summer, let us help you out with a few of our favourites: Arbroath Discover wonderful wildlife tours to book and experience in Scotland, including bird watching safaris, whale watching, farm tours and much more! The construction of elegant Georgian and Victorian villas along the coastline contributed to the area’s growing reputation as a fashionable place to visit, and before long it became one of Scotland’s premier Victorian holiday destinations featuring a Lido (a type of outdoor pool), one of the UK’s first Turkish baths, and a 2-mile promenade that’s as popular today as it was when it was originally built in 1866. Just be aware that it’s also the busiest part of the promenade, especially at the weekend between June and August when it’s heaving with crowds.

You’ll find 2 miles of golden sand at Portobello Beach so there are plenty of spots away from the crowded areas where it’s possible to set up a picnic in relative peace and quiet, especially towards the northern end.
