About this deal

Amongst its many testers has been inov-8 ambassador James Forrest, who recently used the ROCFLY™ G 390 boots to set a new record time for a solo and self-supported hike of Great Britain’s National Three Peaks. James Forrest, scaled the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) – plus all the miles in between them –on a 500-mile adventure that took him just 16 days, 15 hours and 39 minutes. A 10mm deep ADAPTER-FLEX™ groove allows the boot to adapt, react and mould to uneven terrain for a responsive, agile feel that is free of rigidity but full of cushioning. It is positioned to work in tandem with the foot’s midtarsal joint to increase flex and mobility. The brand also states the unique Graphene-infused G-FLY™ foam “supercharges your feet” so you can hike further than ever before. Stability: B ( Lightweight structure and design makes it feel less stable than typical hiking footwear that's heavily reinforced, espcially for wet conditions) A shoe you might consider trying is the VJ Ultra. It’s their highest cushioned shoe, built tough and the grip of their shoes is insane, incomparable. You can just get away with things you can’t with the majority of shoes. Total trust. I think VJ should make a mid height trail runner/fast hiker.

That said, look at James Forrest. Already the record holder for fastest self-supported and continuous completion of the Wainwright fells, two months ago he set exactly the same record for the National Three Peaks – climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and walking the entire 500-mile distance between them in 16 days, 15 hours and 39 minutes. I don’t think I’ve yet come across a shoe I can comfortably wear as long as these, 10 hours of walking, over a variety of terrains and my feet still felt fresh.

Inov-8 was the first sports brand to incorporate Graphene into footwear. Graphene is a very hard wearing material and the soles of inov-8 trail running shoes and the new boots are highly durable and give great grip. The grip, in my experience, is better on drier trails than on wet terrain but it’s still a great asset. Inov-8 make fantastic trail running shoes and hiking boots, so I was very excited when they combined both into this lightweight hybrid.

Hillwalkers, day hikers and thru-hikers will all love this hybrid boot/trail runner combination. They are lightweight, hardwearing, any terrain walking boots that use Inov-8’s durable Graphene-enhanced G-GRIP. Inov-8 says: There is so much to love about the inov-8 ROCFLY™ G 390 and I have enjoyed wearing them for a huge variety of hikes, on a multitude of surfaces and over both long and short distances. So, If cushioning and comfort are high on your list of priorities, then the ROCFLY™ should be high on your list of potential hiking shoes.Mizuno Alpha Eco Apparel - Super light performance clothing with sustainability and the future in mind Vertical grooves cut into the rubber allow the foot’s metatarsal bones to move more independently, aiding adaptability and flexible grip when hiking over uneven terrain.
